Save yourself a lot of headache - go elsewhere for online backup.Ībsolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I had the system set to back up once per week. While one portion of the software revealed 0% usage - another portion of their website indicated the last backup was 1 year old. ![]() During the ordeal of dealing with them, their product had multiple displays of data - none of them show the alleged amounts. Again, my total data is less that 220 gig. Please note they sent no notice of my account allegedly growing - in fact the emails and pop-ups neither indicated my data was exceeding the limit. Initially after I contacted them when if first happened the individual indicated it was their error, but a few months later they did the same thing and again attempted to charge $1200.00 for the alleged over-usage. The neither the desktop app nor the website confirmed any amount of usage. My system as a total of 220gigs - overnight they claimed my usage jumped to over 1100 gigs! Then they charged my credit card $1200.00 for the alleged usage. I foolishly paid for a 2 year subscription only to learn it was nothing more than a scam to attempt to charge my credit for fictitious overuse charges. Over the years we have had occasion to selectively restore files especially files that the client has inadvertently deleted months ago and IBackup has yet to let us down. the mere fact that they attempted to build a new client in a short period of time for us meant a lot to us. IBackup Techsupport did try and build us a client which would restore faster but it did not improve much. So at least at first glance it does not seem that there is bandwidth throttle on the account, but an issue with the client We used the selective restore to give the client the files they needed urgently. if the server was restoring at about 700K, 2-3 other computers could also selectively restore at 700K. However, we discovered that you could selectively restore on multiple computers without impacting the primary restore. YES! the restore was not as fast as we wanted (first time did not know what to expect). We used the weekend to rebuild client computers and Monday morning we began the restore. Still we were happy to get them back, just wish that first level support told us we had to wait till Monday, we would have understood. Presumably that is when second and third level, who had access to restore from trash came to work. The incident happened on a Friday afternoon and we had to wait till Monday Morning for the servers to be restored. IBackup Techsupport assured us that they would restore the servers from Trash. So basically, we were up the proverbial creek. We now know better and do not “remember” anymore). This solved our monitoring issue.Ī couple of years back a client had a ransomware attack, the attackers, destroyed all local backups, Volume Shadow copies, and even trashed the Servers at IBackup and proceeded to empty the Trash at IBackup ( till then we did not know, that we did not need to “ remember” the IBackup client credentials. In any case even as partner you do not have a portal to monitor all client’s status in one view.Īt some point in 2015 we switched over to one master account currently at 10TB, where we bill the client and setup each client as a sub account. ![]() We have had issues when clients have gone over allotted space, but clients have only been billed after a sufficient grace period, at times even 2 months if it is not much. Over time IBackup has kept improving the product by including versioning and since a few years back you could restore previous versions of folders not just files. ![]() delete files in IBackup that are no longer on the client server /workstation to reduce your used space. The Ibackup client has a tool to sync files, i.e. More often that not it is for system files and open files which makes sense. From that point onwards it is incremental, nevertheless we configure the client to send email for any issues. While not necessary, we babysit the first backup as it is a full back. Setup Install and configuration is intuitive and easy. I see a lot of negative reviews & figured I would balance it a bit. Other than receiving a referral commission, we have no other relationship with IBackup and could not care less if anybody else uses it or not. We are very small MSP and have been IBackup Partners since 2010 and have deployed the product on about 20 plus sites with about 30 plus servers.
